Frequently Asked Questions :
What is seeded paper?
Our seeded paper, or planting paper, is a 100% recycled paper, handmade in our workshop in the Ile-de-France region of France, to which we have incorporated wildflower seeds.
We collect used paper from local offices and tear it into small pieces. We add wildflower seeds to the resulting paper pulp and then shape each sheet of paper by hand, using traditional methods.
What is in your seeded paper?
To bring our paper to life we only use post-consumer paper, which we recover. In order to achieve a quality paper that can be written on, we add natural and non-toxic ingredients. Our seeds are non-GMO, organic and reproducible and come from local producers.
Is your paper white?
Because of its nature as recycled paper and because we are against the chemical de-inking and bleaching usually done in industrial recycling, our paper is not white. Thus, the final colour it obtains depends essentially on the waste paper that constitutes its pulp. It varies from light grey to off-white.
I see little black dots, and even whole letters that seem to be scattered on your paper, what's up?
These small black dots, sometimes whole letters, are a manufacturing choice. Aesthetic witnesses of the past life of our paper, they evoke their history, and tell us that everything has a value, that everything can bloom again...
When will I receive my order?
We process orders as soon as we receive them. We send out our orders twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. Therefore, an order received over the weekend will be dispatched on Tuesday, while an order received on Tuesday will be dispatched on Friday. If the Post Office service is not disrupted, the normal delivery time for an order is less than a week in mainland France. Orders of more than 100 pieces of a given item may require additional processing time. If this is the case, we will inform you by e-mail of the receipt of the order.
How long can I keep my seeded paper before planting?
Up to two springs after your purchase. The seeds contained in our seed paper are non-GMO, organic and farm seeds. While some wildflower species can germinate even after ten years, others have a much shorter optimal planting period of three or even two years. We do not stockpile large quantities and our paper is no more than six months old. We recommend planting the seeded paper in the spring or the following spring for optimum germination and flowering results.
I have a great idea, do you do custom prints on seeded paper?
Yes, we do custom printing. However, we do have some constraints. The minimum quantity for a custom project varies according to the size of the items you want to produce. So a minimum of 50 units is required for a business card format, for example, but only 10 illustrations in A5 format. The largest print we can offer at the moment is A4. For the sake of the environment, the total area that can be covered with ink should not exceed 25% of the total area of your design. Basically, no solid ink please. Also, to ensure an optimal layout, please leave a five millimetre margin on each side of your design. For more information on custom printing, don't be shy, drop us a line by clicking on this link!
I don't have a garden, can I plant my seeded paper inside?
The best germination results are obtained by planting the seeded paper outside in spring. However, you can plant the seeded paper indoors all year round as long as you place the pot in a place that does not lack light, fresh water and love!
I want to see flowers, how long does it take to grow the planting card?
The first shoots appear at the end of one week, sometimes less. Flowers have different life spans, which means that some flowers will appear at the one-month mark, others at the three-month mark. Beautiful things need time.

Can I replant the seeds from the flowers on the seeded paper?
The seeds contained in our planting paper are peasant seeds, which means that their seeds will be fertile, provided of course that the flowers have been pollinated. You can harvest the seeds and replant them to continue to enjoy your little flower patch. Some flowers are annuals and will only bloom for one year, others are perennials: they will last through the winter and bloom again the following year. Does your paper contain seeds of invasive or alien plant species?
Environmental experts have examined the seed varieties we incorporate into our paper. In an increasingly globalised world, we have selected seeds from non-invasive species that nurture biodiversity. In order to protect the delicate flora of certain areas, we do not deliver our products to areas known for their fragile ecosystems or with a pronounced endemic character (overseas territories, Madagascar, Australia including Tasmania, New Zealand...). However, if you have any doubts, ask us for our list of seeds to be sure that you will only bring something good to your ecosystem.
