Frequently Asked Questions :

Everything to satisfy your curiosity

What is seeded paper?

Our seeded paper, or planting paper, is 100% recycled paper, handmade in our workshop in the Paris region, to which we have added wildflower seeds.
We collect used paper from local offices and tear it into small pieces. We add wildflower seeds to the resulting paper pulp, then shape each sheet of paper by hand using traditional methods.

What's in your seeded paper?

To bring our paper to life, we only use post-consumer paper that we recover. To obtain a quality paper on which it is possible to write, we add 100% natural and non-toxic ingredients. Our seeds are non-GMO, organic and reproducible and come from local producers.

Is your paper white?

Because it is recycled paper, and because we are against the chemical de-inking and bleaching usually used in industrial recycling, our paper is not white. As a result, its final colour depends essentially on the used paper that makes up its pulp. It varies between light grey and off-white.

I can see little black dots, and even whole letters that seem to be scattered across your paper.

These small black dots, sometimes whole letters, are a manufacturing choice. Aesthetic witnesses to the past life of our paper, they evoke their history, and tell us that everything has a value, that everything can blossom again...

When will I receive my order?

We process orders as soon as we receive them. We send out our orders twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. Consequently, an order received over the weekend will be dispatched on Tuesday, while an order received on Tuesday will be dispatched on Friday. If the Post Office service is not disrupted, the normal delivery time for an order is less than a week in mainland France. Orders of more than 100 pieces of a given item may require additional processing time. If this is the case, we will inform you by e-mail as soon as we receive your order.

How long can I keep my seeded paper before planting it?

Up to two springs after your purchase. The seeds contained in our seeded paper are non-GMO, organic and farmers' seeds. While some wildflower species can germinate even after ten years, others have a much shorter optimum planting period of three or even two years. We don't keep large stocks and our paper is no more than six months old. We recommend planting the seeded paper in spring, or the following spring, to obtain optimum germination and flowering results.

I've got a great idea, do you do personalised prints on seeded paper?

Yes, we do custom printing. However, we do have a few constraints. The minimum quantity for a personalised project varies according to the dimensions of the items you want to produce. A minimum of 50 units is required for a business card format, for example, but only 10 illustrations in A5 format. The largest print we can currently offer is A4. To protect the environment, the total surface area that can be covered with ink must not exceed 25% of the total surface area of your design. In other words, no flat areas of ink please. Also, to ensure optimum layout, please leave a five millimetre margin on each side of your design. I don't have a garden. Can I plant my seeded paper indoors?

The best germination results are obtained by planting the seeded paper outside, in spring. However, you can plant seeded paper indoors all year round, as long as you place the pot in a place with plenty of light, fresh water and love!

I'd like to see some flowers, how long does it take to grow the planting card?

The first shoots appear after a week, sometimes less. Flowers have different life spans, which means that some will appear at the end of a month, others at the end of three months. Beautiful things need time.

Can I replant the seeds from the flowers on the seeded paper?

The seeds contained in our planting paper are peasant seeds, which means that they will be fertile, provided, of course, that the flowers have been pollinated. You can harvest the seeds and replant them to continue enjoying your little flowering corner. Some flowers are annuals and will only bloom for a year, while others are perennials: they will survive the winter and bloom again the following year. Does your paper contain seeds of invasive or foreign plant species?

Environmental experts have examined the varieties of seeds we incorporate into our paper. In an increasingly globalised world, we have selected seeds from non-invasive species that nurture biodiversity. In order to protect the delicate flora of certain areas, we do not deliver our products to zones known for their fragile ecosystems or pronounced endemic character (overseas territories, Madagascar, Australia including Tasmania, New Zealand, etc.). However, if you have any doubts, ask us for our list of seeds to be sure you're bringing nothing but good to your ecosystem.
